EDUCATIONAL AIMS

  • This course is aiming to expand conventional knowledge and competence of young bronchoscopists to contemporary and future directions.

  • During this course, bronchoscopists already basically trained will be provided with the essential theoretical background, hands-on training and practical guidance for understanding indications and contraindications of bronchoscopic techniques and for implementing in their daily practice modern diagnostic and therapeutic modalities. 

TARGET AUDIENCE

  • Pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons and critical care specialists already familiar with basic bronchoscopic techniques, wishing to acquire in depth knowledge and experience of contemporary interventional bronchoscopic modalities, taught by the world leading experts.
  • Pulmonary medicine fellows who see in interventional bronchoscopy an interesting future field of their specialisation and wish to acquire as much information and practice as possible on this subject. 

COURSE GOALS

At the end of the course, participants will:

  • Recognise indications and contraindications of major bronchoscopic modalities
  • Perform TBNA in major lymph node stations
  • Start with electrocautery and Cryotherapy for endobronchial treatment or biopsies
  • Start with rigid bronchoscopy debulking techniques and stent placement
  • Understand and practice with navigation technologies such as EBUS and electromagnetic navigation
